Transformers for Rectifiers are built to power energy conversion systems from alternating current to direct current. They find application in the galvanic treatment sector such as galvanizing, chrome plating, electrocolouring, and all surface treatments in general where the process requires direct electric current conduction. Braga boasts fifty years of experience in the construction of this type of transformers, therefore we are able to design and build them according to customer requirements and specifications. Transformers are sized according to the type of rectifier system in use, commonly chosen from the following:

  • Six-phase with reactor;

  • Six-phase without reactor;

  • Three-phase bridge;

  • Three-phase half-wave;

  • Twelve-phase.

Based on customer requests, the transformer can be built with a 3 or 5 column core. All transformers are impregnated with anti-mold insulating varnishes, an operation that makes them suitable for operation in very humid environments, also improving thermal dissipation and electrical insulation. When the sizing power requires it, between the windings of the transformers there are ventilation air channels, in front-only or on all 4 sides of the coils version, which in addition to favoring heat dissipation, improve insulation and determine a reduction in short-circuit current. These transformers are manufactured in accordance with IEC 61558, IEC 61378 and IEC 60076 in the applicable parts. When the transformer is used in a six-phase rectifier system with reactor, the reactor is also supplied sized according to the transformer nameplate data and, if requested by the Customer, a DC output current smoothing inductance can be supplied.
