Safety transformers for swimming pool lighting

These transformers are specifically built for powering swimming pool lights and comply with standards IEC 61558-1 and IEC 61558-2-6 – Safety of power transformers, power supplies and similar.
Normally the supply voltage is 230V, 50÷60Hz; these transformers can have multiple supply voltages upon customer request.
Each swimming pool lighting transformer is equipped with two terminals for each lamp, so that each cable from the lamp has its own terminal, making installation faster and safer. Each transformer is protected by a fuse on the primary winding placed directly on the transformer.
Considering the generally hostile environment in which these transformers are used, with temperatures up to 50° C, low-loss lamination (1.3÷1.5 W/Kg) is used to improve efficiency. These transformers are designed to limit voltage drops, a very important factor for the efficiency of swimming pool lights.
The materials used for these transformers belong to Class F of insulation systems. These transformers require double or reinforced insulation and, in the case of the 300, 600 and 900VA versions, double insulation is obtained through the use of special coils, designed by us, which guarantee insulation between windings not only through insulating paper, but also with a molded nylon separation.
At the end of the production process, in order to verify proper insulation in accordance with the standard, each transformer is tested by applying a test voltage of 5KV between the primary and secondary windings and a voltage of 3KV between the secondary winding and ground.
All these transformers are designed to be mounted in cabinets with a protection degree of IP54 or higher.
The Electrical Protection Class can be I or II depending on customer requirements. The available power values are 100, 300, 600, 900, 1,200 and 1,500 VA, as swimming pool lamps normally have these power values.
