Three-phase line commutating reactors with IP65 protection degree
Commutating reactors can be produced with IP65 protection degree for use in environments where it is necessary to protect the product from humidity and water.
The most common application of these reactors consists in inserting them in series and upstream of rectifier circuits and in general upstream of electronically controlled circuits such as phase-controlled drives and frequency converters. They serve in practice to reduce the rate of increase of current, di/dt, in the switching transient thus safeguarding electronic devices such as SCRs and, at the same time, limiting the harmonic content in the supply circuit, in order to attenuate disturbances to other devices connected to the network. The reference design data is that the short-circuit voltage of the line is not less than 4%.
