Air-Core Coils
Air-core coils represent a special solution for electrical applications that require precise inductances without the use of magnetic cores. The use of air-core inductors is necessary where an extremely linear behavior of the inductor is desired even at high currents. The absence of the magnetic core and related losses due to hysteresis and eddy currents means that the losses of air-core coils are reduced, especially at high frequencies. Coils are made with copper or aluminum conductors, available in different formats (wire, flat wire, sheet) and can be configured with internal and external dimensions and number of turns according to specific customer requirements. The production process includes resin impregnation, which guarantees mechanical stability, humidity resistance and better electrical insulation. It is possible to perform edge-wound flat wire winding.
